Hip Mobility Workshop + Fall Potluck
Sat, Oct 28
|Little Rock
All levels welcome. The hips are packed with many connections and stored emotions. Due to sitting so much, we become tight in this area, which contributes to aches, pains, stiffness. We'll learn a sequence of poses appropriate for addressing this area and bring mobility.

About the event
Join Certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers (CIYT's) Howison Hollenberg and Joy Wasson to un-pack the complexity of the hip joint and muscles in a guided sequence of poses with support from various props and setups. This is an all levels mini-workshop ending with a community potluck and fellowship.
The pelvis or pelvic girdle from the back is where the end of your spinal column, the tailbone, and sacrum are located. This is a direct connection to your brain, nervous system, and skeletal structure. Also, there is the femur bone— the largest bone and socket in the body. This is where most of the load of the entire body is supported. The front groin is where the pelvis and the hips are connected. Due to sitting so much, we become tight in this area, which directly affects the psoas muscle, a massive muscle deep inside us that connects the pelvis to the femur and the lumbar bones.
To put it simply, the health of your hips and associated areas is vital in keeping the pains that are sure to come at bay by using preventative solutions in your practice. Join us as we practice together to address this critical area of our body and learn ways to get better rotation, extension, and strength around the hip joint.
$25/person, $15/full time students. Special pricing available for those in financial need. We don't want to turn anyone away, barter is always an option. If you have classes left over from the last session at The Commons, apply that towards the workshop. Please send your RSVP to fuelingconnection@gmail.com or by text 501-772-0497.
